Australian Cocktail Month is coming in May

Founded by influential industry figure Penny Sippe, the inaugural Australian Cocktail Month is coming up in May 2021.

Held across Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide, Australian Cocktail Month will partner with some of the best local and international alcohol brands to champion the country’s bar industry.

“I am excited to launch Australian Cocktail Month and give consumers the chance to try amazing cocktails created by some of the country’s best bars,” said Sippe.

“I’m also proud to provide assistance to the industry as they rebuild following the pandemic.”

Consumers can unlock unique bar experiences and enjoy a special menu of cocktails created exclusively for the event by purchasing the Australian Cocktail Month ticket, priced at $20.

The menu will be available at participating venues, with cocktails priced at $14, and non-alcoholic options at $10.

The support of Australian and international brands has made available 80 different products for bartenders to create their cocktails for the month.

Local participants include 20 20 Distillery, Adelaide Hills Distillery, Barossa Distilling, Brix White Rum, Feels Botanicals, Needle & Pin, Seville Orange Gin, Never Never, Regal Rogue, Starward, The Melbourne Gin Company and Lyre’s Non-Alcoholic Spirits.

International representation comes from Bombay Sapphire, Fords, Hendrick’s, Monkey 47, 1800, Herradura, Patrón, Ailsa Bay, Glenfiddich, Monkey Shoulder, Naked Grouse, Buffalo Trace, Woodford Reserve, Chase Vodka, Diplomatico, Don Papa, Plantation, Sailor Jerry and Fever-Tree Mixers.

Seventy two bars across the four cities have been handpicked to take part in the event, which has been enthusiastically received by the industry.

“Now more than ever, our industry needs a diverse platform that drives consumers back into the bars that have supported brands, hosted our patrons and created spaces and memories,” says Tash Conte, owner of the award-winning Black Pearl in Melbourne.

“This platform is what we need now to mend and move forward.”

A ticket to Australian Cocktail Month can be used at any participating venue throughout May.

Tickets go on sale in March on the Australian Cocktail Month website.
