Mobius Distilling Company has picked up the Champion Liqueur Trophy at the RASV’s Australian Distilled Spirit Awards for its Moreau Apple Pie Liqueur.

Moreau Apple Pie Liqueur is produced by Mobius at its distillery in Marrickville, Sydney, using Victorian-grown apples.

“Every bottle has the juice of 12 apples from Bellevue Orchard in Officer,” said Mobius co-founder and head distiller Philip Crossley.

“We take that, we play with it, we add spices and cook it all up into something delicious, but that base apple flavour is 100 per cent natural and locally grown, here in Australia.

The name of the liqueur originates from the fantastical world of ‘Dr Moreau’, the mad scientist character in the H G Wells novel renowned for his unorthodox techniques, reflecting the experimental nature of the spirit.

The RASV win follows Gold and Judge’s Choice medals for the liqueur at the Australian International Spirits Competition and a Gold medal at the London Spirits Competition.

It is available in 700ml and 200ml bottles direct from Mobius Distilling Co.
