Single malt Scotch whisky distiller Highland Park has added a new, permanently available 15-Year-Old expression to its range.
Highland Park 15-Year-Old Viking Heart is presented in a heavily embossed ceramic bottle, inspired by the distillery’s ancient earthenware vessels, created in partnership with Wade Ceramics.
The lead-free porcelain decanter is 100 per cent food safe, glazed inside and out and embossed with the lion and serpent design that appears on many of the Highland Park glass bottles.
It contains a high percentage of first-fill European oak sherry seasoned casks, supported by first-fill American oak sherry and a small proportion of refill casks to allow the Highland Park distillery character to shine through.
Highland Park master whisky maker Gordon Motion said the company’s insistence on specially constructed sherry casks delivers a richness of flavour.
“Vanilla and citrus notes lead and combine with the unique fragrant peat and creamy mouthfeel synonymous with Highland Park,” he said.
“The hand selection of quality first-fill and refill casks for Highland Park 15-Year-Old delivers a rich colour which is 100 per cent natural.”
Highland Park Viking Heart is bottled at 44 per cent ABV with an RRP of $185.
