Stout sales up in Dan Murphy’s and BWS

Stout is one of the fastest growing craft beer subcategories in Endeavour Group’s retail drinks outlets, according to Billy Ryan, category manager, craft beer.

Ryan said year-on-year stout sales are up more than eight per cent, with private label brand offering Zytho Brewing Stout up 50 per cent.

“While stout is predominantly drunk by Boomers and Gen X, Gen Z’s are switching onto Stout too – at a growth rate of almost ten per cent,” he said.

“It’s definitely no longer ‘the drink your nana drinks’, as is often perceived!”

Zytho Velvet Luxe Stout is six per cent ABV, offering classic aromas of rich coffee, cream, chocolate and raisins.

It’s once again been joined by a limited edition stablemate, Zytho White Stout, which returns to Dan Murphy’s and BWS stores by popular demand.

“We asked our customers what flavours they wanted to see in the next Zytho Beer release and more than 54 per cent asked if we could bring back Zytho White Stout – so we did!” said Ryan.

Zytho White Stout is light in colour, but offers some of the rich coffee and chocolate notes typical of dark stouts, while abstaining from using roasted malt in the grist.

Zytho White Stout (RRP $20, 4-pack) and Zytho Velvet Luxe Stout RRP $19, 4-pack) are available now from Dan Murphy’s and BWS.
