Lark, Wolf of the Willows toast five years of collaboration

Wolf Release V is the latest single malt whisky released by Lark Distillery in collaboration with Melbourne’s Wolf of the Willows Brewery.

Lark and WOTW began a barrel exchange project in 2017, aiming to create the ultimate boilermaker that was greater than the sum of its parts.

“The elements of contrast and complement, the selection of the individual barrels, the whisky characteristics from these barrels and the malt profile of the beer, are all sculptured to have a unique symbiosis of sensory characteristics,” says WOTW co-founder Scott McKinnon.

“As a consequence, both the 2022 Wolf of the Willows Imperial JSP (beer) and Lark Distilling Wolf Release V (whisky) are unique compared to anything else on the market.”

The companies say Wolf Release V is the most beer-centric whisky in the series to date.

“Tasting wise, think soft pineapple lollies mixed with creamy milk chocolate and a hint of smoke – it’s a beast of a release for whisky and beer lovers alike,” the release says.

WOLF Release V (RRP $280) is available now direct from Lark Distilling along with Dan Murphy’s stores and other participating outlets.
